FOOTBALL TOURS TO AMSTERDAM CUP

DESTINATIONS

The Amsterdam Cup tournament is held on different sports facilities in Amsterdam and Haarlem areas on both grass and artificial fields during the first weekend of the UK May half term holiday. A total of between 160 and 200 teams from different countries across Europe and beyond participate in the two day event. The tournament is held close to all of the major tourist centres in Holland giving a wide choice of optional excursions and is a comfortable drive from the North Sea Ferry ports.

All teams will play a minimum of 6 games spread over both Saturday and Sunday. In the first round all teams play in groups of 4 or 5 teams. On Sunday the second round starts with all teams that qualify as 1st or 2nd in the group stage will play in the 2nd round -A-. All other teams from the 1st round will play in the 2nd round -B-. Again all teams are placed in groups and play each other once. The 2nd round group winners play the (semi-) finals.

Home to Hollands most prestigious and iconic football club, Ajax, as well as hosting many games for the National side. The Amsterdam Arena boasts a capacity in excess of 53,000 seats as well as state of the art technology. Groups are shown around by a passionate football guide starting with a video of the history of Ajax. The 90min tour will give groups the opportunity to visit the changing rooms, press room, control room, corporate boxes, players tunnel, pitch side view and trophy room before finishing in the club shop.

A combined theme park and tropical indoor swimmingpool. Popoular attractions include the park’s latest rollercoaster the Falcon, the Mad Mill, the Toboggan Run, and the Splash. In the heart of the amusement park you’ll find the Tiki pool. With its eleven slides, dynamic Typhoon wave pool, funnel slide and lazy river the Tiki Pool is the largest covered waterslide paradise in Benelux.

Groups will have the opportunity to watch an Ajax Eredivisie or Dutch cup match subject to availability and schedule. Alternatively, a number of professional clubs play their home games within a short drive of Amsterdam including Feyenoord, AZ Alkmaar and FC Utrecht and ADO Den Haag
